Special Voting Deputies for Spring Election
NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
Absentee Voting to be Administered
At Residential Care Facilities/Retirement Homes
Monday, March 16 and Tuesday, March 17
Special Voting Deputies appointed by the Town of Woodruff will be administering absentee voting for the residents of the facilities listed below for the April 7, 2026, Spring Election, on Monday, March 16, and Tuesday, March 17, at the following times*:
Wood Court Apartments, 9-9:30 a.m.
One Penny Place, 10-11:30 a.m.
Milestone Senior Living, 9-10:30 a.m.
*Special Voting Deputies will remain onsite the second day of visits until all residents requesting registrations or ballots are served.
Any qualified elector who is unable or unwilling to appear at the polling place on Election Day may request to vote an absentee ballot. A qualified elector is a U.S. citizen who will be 18 years of age or older on Election Day, who has resided in the ward or municipality where he or she wishes to vote for at least 28 consecutive days before the election. The elector must also be registered in order to receive an absentee ballot.
Only observers from each of the two recognized political parties whose candidates for governor or president received the greatest number of votes in the municipality at the most recent general election may accompany the deputies to each facility where absentee voting will take place. The observers may observe the process of absentee ballot distribution in the common areas of the home, facility or complex. Each party wishing to have an observer present shall submit the name of the observer to the clerk no later than the close of business on the last business day prior to the visit.
Family members of residents may be present at the time of voting.
Further, the Special Voting Deputies are also appointed Election Registration Officials and will be available to process new voter registrations on those days.
